What is the LOB?

The National Consultative Body of Public Administration Associations (LOB) is an umbrella organization that facilitates discussion and contact between all public administration study associations in the Netherlands. Every six weeks, we organise a general assembly for boards to discuss and exchange information about running a study association. Afterwards, we go out for dinner and drinks. Besides the GAs, we organise a series of events, including the Public Administration Challenge and the LOB-weekend for our members. Because the LOB is a national organisation, any board member must be willing to travel across the Netherlands for meetings, drinks, congresses, and other activities. A LOB board year is voluntary and varies in intensity depending on function and the time of the year. A LOB board function lasts one year, from January to January.

The workload of a LOB board year is around 5 to 8 hours per week, depending on function and period of the year. This does not include those periods when events are being organised. A LOB board year is easy to combine with full-time study and a social life! A board is a team, so you can count on the support of your fellow board members during busy periods.

Below, you can find information on the specific functions.
